ABOUT: Located in central South Dakota, Bad River Ranch totals 141,357 acres and features native grassland with rolling hills. The Bad River runs through the property, the mouth of which is where Lewis and Clark met the Teton Sioux. Bad River Ranch is home to several species of wildlife including bison, whitetail and mule deer, pronghorn, elk, bobcats, mountain lions, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, skunks, prairie dogs, badgers, hawks, eagles, owls, pheasant, grouse, prairie chickens, turkeys and a variety of song birds.
HUNTS: Turner Ranch Outfitting conducts deer and turkey trophy hunts at the Bad River Ranch. Trophy quality and age class are excellent for the area. No additional bird hunting is available at this time.
PRICING: Our current fee is $7,000, plus a license fee, for a four (4) day trophy deer hunt. Spring turkey hunt cost is $2,000, plus a license fee, for a two (2) day hunt.
LICENSING: Firearm hunting requires a license to be drawn with application to the state (West River Special Buck). Archery licenses are available over the counter.
BOOKING & TIMELINE: Due to very high demand and licencing process, booking for these hunts may take up to two to three years. Once a hunt is booked, the necessities and weather details are documented based on the season.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Hunters are accommodated on the ranch.
